With Hope in Our Hearts Exhibition
Photographers were asked to shoot their idea of hope during March 2009, brain tumour awareness month (UK), and this inspirational book, 'With Hope in Our Hearts' is the result.
In his introduction for the book, Henry Friedman, Deputy Director of The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center wrote “This wonderful book produces images that will help anyone and their family battling a brain tumor and indeed any other medical or even non-medical challenge. I believe all readers will find this to be deeply moving book and an essential ingredient for their own personal quest for health and happiness.”
The exhibition is going to include 8 - 10 images from the book along with photo journalistic stories of people with a brain tumour. For example we have one young lady studying photography at university here whose Dad has had a brain tumour for 5 years now and she has taken photos of him on a regular basis as part of her studies. The story behind each image is very powerful and we are very excited to have her onboard.
We want to show people here in the UK what having a brain tumour is all about whilst continuing to maintain our belief that no matter what the circumstances, there is always hope.
The exhibition will be launched on March 1st 2011 which is the start of National Brain Tumour Awareness Month here in the UK. Dates and venues will be announced in January 2011.
